Our Land of the Gods helmet is a multi-faceted homage, a tribute we wanted to pay for a long time already, but have just gotten around to now – life gets messy sometimes.
An homage to the country our birth, Argentina, that has seen more than its fair share of travails and hardship and yet keeps punching well above its weight. More than a country, Argentina is an idea, an ideal that has captured so many imaginations – a land without border, stretching across thousands upon thousands of miles where nothing can stop that roaming soul that inhabits us all.
A tribute to its people too – forged from the purest metal and cooled in blood, sweat and tears, they have risen time and again and have delivered heroes that we all still admire – in motor racing, that often feels like it was invented there – their names shine forever in the Pantheon of racers – Fangio, of course, Gonzalez, naturally, but also Marimon (father and son). Mieres, Campos, Iglesias, Marcilla and so many more, that we won’t even name but will never forget, nonetheless. Many of them were associated with Suixtil at some point, and we take great pride in that shared history. And then, just when we thought they could not make us dream any longer, came Alejandro de Tomaso who developed some magnificent beasts, including the Tipo 505 (ridden, to his death, by Piers Courage while racing for Williams) that, at some point not that long ago, also carried our storied logo. Our Land of the Gods model is also a testament to his genius.
So, as you will have by now gathered, our Land of the Gods is not for the faint of heart and it is a model that encapsulates, as best as we possibly could render it that very spirit we reach for across all our endeavors and that simply cannot disappear because it is the essence, the soul of our very brand – the human spirit – at life speed!
The helmet shell is built from a base molded from resin and fibers while its inside is lined with natural cork of 3 mm (0.11 in) thickness. All straps are crafted from the finest real full-grain cow leather while the padding and covers are stitched from 100% cotton. Should you so wish, we can also customise the side of your helmet with either another bigger Suixtil logo or a race number (22 was the original number on that T505, but you tell us). It should be noted that the fixed visor of this model is suitable to stylishly affix the Guard. Should you prefer, we can also recommend the use of our BelleVue goggles, or, alternatively, our BelleVue 50s, also perfectly adjusted to the model and of the utmost comfort.
This beautiful piece is sure to attract a lot of attention with its gorgeous patina and is crafted to the highest standard. It arrives nicely packed in a linen bag that you can use whenever taking the helmet to a track day or an event.
The Land of the Gods comes in 3 sizes (thanks to an easy to install foam adjustment ring) that accommodates head sizes from 56 to 64 cm (22 to 25.5′) and is delivered by courier within 7 days of its order.
